Established in 2002, Active8 is a colourful quality news and lifestyle publication distributed free of charge to 15,500 homes and businesses across the south of Sheffield.
The independent publication is particularly popular and because it is avidly picked up and read, advertisers generally enjoy a healthy response. Indeed, many businesses have advertised month after month for almost seven years.
Editorial content is newsy and colourful, emphasising the positive aspects of the local area and the achievements of its residents.
Active8 performs an important role in the local community and goes much further than simply being a magazine that drops through people's letter-boxes every month.
Active8 provided the platform which saw the very popular Woodseats Community Festival launched four years ago. It also co-operates with the City Council in recognising the contributions made to the local area with Community Pride Awards.
In addition to being read so avidly by local people, Active8 also has a healthy list of subscribers the length and breadth of Britain and copies are also posted to many former Sheffield residents now living overseas.
Active8 has two sister magazines, Dronfield Eye, which was launched in 2005, and Wings which is distributed in Wingerworth ans Ashover. Together, they are delivered to 35,500 homes and businesses each and every month.
